- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ cup salted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- Red gel food coloring or 1 tablespoon red liquid food coloring
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or grease lightly.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cream of tartar.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until the batter is fluffy.
- Add food coloring and mix well, ensuring even distribution. Add enough to achieve a vibrant dark red color.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Fold in 1 cup of white chocolate chips.
- Use a cookie scoop to place dough on the prepared pans, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- Bake for 8 to 9 minutes.
- Remove from oven and immediately press remaining white chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies.
- Allow to cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
