  • Total Time: 18 minutes
  • Yield: 2 hours 18 minutes 1x

Ingredients

Scale

  1. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  2. 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  3. 3/4 cup brown sugar
  4. 1/4 cup white sugar
  5. 1 large egg
  6. 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  7. 2 1/4 cups flour
  8. 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  9. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  10. 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. In a stand mixer’s bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and vanilla extract for about 4-5 minutes until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add in the flour, cornstarch, and baking soda to the creamed mixture, beating just until everything is well incorporated.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet. Cover the dough loosely with cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to firm up.
  5. When you’re ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the chilled dough balls onto the baking sheet, ensuring they’re spaced apart.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-9 minutes, or until the cookies are just set and lightly golden.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
