  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • ⅓ cup oil
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

For the crumb topping:

  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup pecans or walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter, softened


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and place cupcake liners in a muffin tin.
  2. Combine dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the wet ingredients: pumpkin, sugar, oil, and eggs. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Divide batter into liners using a cookie dough scoop, adding about 2 tablespoons for mini muffins and 1/3 cup for standard size.
  5. If using crumb topping, evenly sprinkle it over the top of the muffins.
  6. Bake at 350°F – mini muffins for about 10-12 minutes and standard size for 15-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool completely. Store in an airtight container.

For the crumb topping:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  2. Sprinkle on muffins before baking.
